Our monthly subscription box pairs a handpicked fiction book with an exclusive Fawn & Flame scented candle, carefully created to reflect the atmosphere, setting and feeling of the chosen story. It's a full sensory reading experience, designed to help you slow down, switch off and lose yourself in a different world.
Your subscription includes access to our book club community: join virtually from anywhere in the UK, or meet us in person if you're local to Norfolk. A warm, friendly space to share your thoughts on our latest read – no pressure, just good conversation about great books.

What arrives at your door each month:
- A secret fiction book. Handpicked to pull you somewhere new. No spoilers, just the excitement of discovering something you might not have found on your own. Past picks have included The Maiden, The Cottingley Secret, A Midwinter's Tail and The Housekeeper & The Professor.
- An exclusive scented candle, paired to your book. This is what makes us different. Every candle is created specifically to echo the mood, setting and soul of that month's book. Handpoured in Norfolk with 100% natural rapeseed and coconut wax – paraffin, palm, synthetics and phthalate-free, as well as plant-based, cruelty-free and vegan-friendly, ensuring a clean, long-lasting and ethical burn.
- A little something extra. A thoughtful, surprise treat to complete your Scents & Stories box.
- Your reading ritual card. A personal note from us on why we chose this month's pairing, plus a reflection prompt or two to bring to book club, or just to sit with yourself.

We're a mother-daughter team from Norfolk who started Fawn & Flame because we believe reading and aromatherapy are two of the simplest, most powerful ways to find calm in a busy world. Every box is packed by us, with care. We hope it feels like it came from a friend.

Can you tell me more about how the Scents & Stories subscription works?
Our pay-as-you-go monthly subscription can be paused or cancelled at anytime.
Our three and six month prepaid subscriptions mean you can pay upfront for future boxes and receive a discount. This also works perfectly for gifting – just let us know if you'd like us to include a note or provide you with a printable voucher.
All Scents & Stories subscription options include free delivery and will arrive on your doorstep the first week of every month.
Please note that you will be charged on the date you subscribe, and the same date thereafter if on our monthly subscription. If you subscribe after 4th of each month, you will receive your first box the first week of the following month. For example, if you subscribe on 5th July, you'll receive your first box in the first week of August.
For our monthly book club discussions, we’ll gather via Google Meets at the start of every month for a gentle evening, where we will share thoughts, favourite moments and quiet reflections with fellow readers.
What happens if I don't receive my box?
In the event of a box being lost or an item in the box being damaged, we will offer to replace the item or offer a refund after 14 days have elapsed after dispatch.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept any liability for any loss or damage once goods have been delivered.
What happens if I change my mind after subscribing or prepaying?
We hope you don’t change your mind, but you have up to 14 days after signing-up to cancel. After this time, there will be no refunds given but you can then cancel your subscription at any time by going into your account.
If you'd like to pause or skip a box then please do so in your account or let us know via email and we can arrange this for you.
What if I've already read the book?
With surprise subscription boxes such as ours, there is always a risk that you might have already read the chosen book. In this case, maybe you would like to re-gift the book to a friend, or donate it to a charity?
However, if this is not possible, drop us an email, and we will do our best to replace it. You will be required to send the book back to us at your own cost.
What if I don't like surprises?
We will not reveal the titles of the book in the subscription box before dispatch in order to retain the element of surprise.
However, you can email us before hand at hello@fawnandflame.com and we will let you know which books have been carefully selected for upcoming boxes – just don't spoil it for anyone else!
Can I send a subscription box as a gift?
Yes, definitely! However, your friend won’t be given a separate account login and it’ll be your responsibility to manage the subscription on their behalf if you choose our pay-as-you-go monthly subscription, but putting in their delivery and email address. They will then receive all the tracking information when the box is dispatched.
Choosing one of our prepaid subscription options might work best for a gift. If you'd like for us to include a special note or send you a personalised gift voucher to print out for them then just leave a note on your order or send us an email – we'd be more than happy to help make your gift extra special!
When can I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel your subscription at any time by logging in to your account on the Fawn & Flame website.
However, please note that once your payment has been taken for the most recent box, the order is automatically created, and so you will still receive the next box but you will stop any future payments and orders being generated.
You can also pause your subscription should you need to in your account or by emailing us, but again, it will need to before the payment is taken.
